The name is referential to the slang term ‘gorilla grip pussy’ that is subverted by the phrase ‘weak as a kitten’. The gorilla grip is not only referring to the painful birth the child experiences, but also the gorilla she is playing with, and the childish fury she expresses when scolding her toys. Cunt is used in a reclaimed spirit, but do not hesitate to associate it with the medieval usage as a vulgar word for vagina.
The associations with misreadings of Lolita, and the coquettish demure pre-teen whose sexual availability is expected despite her immaturity. The child, only known as ‘girl child’ gives birth to a ball of hair, which may be read in any way the viewer choses to read it: my perspective is that hair in itself is disturbing texturally, and when found in abundance on the body can be disconcerting. I, myself do not lean into the factor of horror when hair appears during puberty, but I concur that without my active doing: it is there.

The use of two actors was to establish the character as a concept that inhabits, as opposed to being inhabited. It is a volatile and aggressively fictional caricature of childish sexuality.
I make, what I as a viewer want to see: lecherous, painful, and bewildering video work. I found the Vaudeville aspect to mesh quite well with the notion of far-away freak-shows and conjoined twins, but also the romanticisation and abstract of these two concepts.

The audio track is a repurposed creation taken from the piano score of ‘The Great Lester’ during his vaudeville years. The also inspired heavily by Andrzej Żuławski's compositions for his 1981 film ‘Possession’, and musicians like Miharu Koshi, specifically her 2009 album ‘Epoque de Techno’.
